What is studio wani?
Shards of pottery scattered on the side of the road, half-finished dishes drying on a shelf in front of a neighbor's house, a pickup truck driving slowly with its bed packed full of rice bowls and teacups...
When I walk around the neighborhood of studio wani, I am reminded that this is a pottery town.
Inspired by Hasami Town, where you can feel the history and daily life of manufacturing, I opened a pottery studio in 2017.
In 2023, we became a public company with the construction of a new workshop.
Currently, my husband and I (Watajima Miriam and Kenichiro) and the other members of our workshop are creating ceramics with a focus on handmade craftsmanship.

Team Members
We aim to create a team like a band.
Our creative team of members who love making things work together, leveraging their individual personalities and skills.
Like jazz, sometimes it plays a supporting role, and sometimes it plays a solo role.
Without rigidly defining hierarchical relationships or division of roles, we aim to improve each other's skills and motivation.
I want to move forward towards the goal of "making something good."

Tableware born at the dining table
New tableware ideas naturally arise in everyday life and when eating with staff.
The foundation of studio wani is to create things that people want to use and want themselves.
Only the vessels that I make and use and think are good become my works of art.

Thoughts on the environment
Sustainability
Studio Wani's manufacturing philosophy is to "put as little strain on the environment as possible."
I decided to "do what I can" to use natural energy, reduce waste, and protect the future of our children. It's a big dream, but if we create things that are kind to the earth, people will use them for a long time and cherish them, and gradually society's awareness will change, and together we can create a safer future.
